Kalaburagi, also known as Gulbarga, is a city where traditions from Hindu, Muslim, Jain, and folk cultures live together in perfect harmony. The city’s traditions reflect its rich history, spiritual depth, and warm hospitality.One of the most famous traditions is the Urs Festival at Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah, held every year in November or December. Lakhs of devotees visit to offer prayers, enjoy soulful Qawwali music, and share free food (langar) with everyone.The Sharana Basaveshwara Jatra in February or March is another grand celebration. For 10 days, the streets come alive with a massive chariot procession, Vachana recitations, and devotion to Lord Basaveshwara.
